What is CleanWear?
CleanWear is an apparel line based on the artwork received from inmates.
Why the name CleanWear?
We commit a portion of all of our sales to programs that help people get a clean start in life. Whether it be substance abuse programs, homeless shelters or children's homes, we believe in giving back to programs that help people succeed.
Is this really Prison Artwork?
Yes, our artwork is created by artists who are or have been incarcerated. When browsing our site we hope that you will see the talent in these artists that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Why do you sell Prison Artwork?
It started in 2009 when our son began sending us his artwork from prison. We thought that by making t-shirts from his art he might have an opportunity for success after his release. The idea grew and other inmates found out about what we were doing and we began receiving artwork from many inmate artists.
The artists find a positive focus in their art and part of the proceeds of everything we sell is committed to programs that help people needing opportunities for success in life.

I know someone in prison, can they send you their artwork?
We receive numerous requests from those wanting to send us art. We do not accept unsolicited artwork. The inmate must first send a letter of interest to us. Upon receiving their letter we will send a submission packet to them.
Not all art is accepted and we encourage each artist to send us their best work! Our submission packet details the process for submitting artwork to us.

What are your shirts printed on?
CleanWear considers the quality of the fabric and assembly just as important as the look and design of the shirt.
As part of our corporate mission, CleanWear strives to use only shirts made in the USA. Most of our shirts are 6.1oz High Quality Heavy Weight Fabric, 100 % Pre-Shrunk Cotton Open-end Yarn Full Cut Spec Taped Shoulder to Shoulder Double needle cover stitch Bottom and SleeveHems. Some of our shirts are made of a lighter weight fabric depending on the style. Our first option is to use only shirts made in the USA but if there is a certain style or fabric only available outside of the US we will use that only if a US option is not readily available.
What are the washing instructions?
It is best to wash the shirts in cold-water, inside out. Separating light colors from dark colors and machine-washing inside-out in cold water will help endure longer life of the shirt. Do not iron the design.
What are the Payment Options?
CleanWear only accepts Credit Cards or Debit Cards for payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. Payment can be submitted only via credit card online or through the phone.

What are the Shipping Costs?
Shipping costs vary based on the location, weight, size and the shipping method of the package being shipping. Cost for shipping is determined after you have added all items to your cart and provided your shipping address and shipping method. The cost will reflect automatically on your total cost. Please note that taxes or other duties may be charged by international customs for delivery of orders over $20 in value and are your responsibilty.
